About the Organization
Project 39A is a criminal justice programme based at National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi). Inspired by Article 39A of the Constitution of India, the project works towards promoting equal justice and equal opportunity through empirical research, pro bono litigation, and policy engagement. Its work focuses on critical issues within India’s criminal justice system, including legal aid, torture, forensics, mental health, and the death penalty.

About the Internship
Project 39A is inviting applications from motivated and research-oriented students for its internship programme. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful research and litigation initiatives aimed at strengthening the criminal justice system in India.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Selected interns may gain exposure to:
- Empirical legal research
- Criminal justice policy analysis
- Pro bono litigation support
- Legal aid initiatives
- Research relating to torture, forensics, mental health, and death penalty jurisprudence
- Constitutional and human rights issues
