About the Organization
The Serious Fraud Investigation Office is a multidisciplinary investigating agency constituted under Section 211 of the Companies Act, 2013. SFIO investigates complex corporate frauds with expertise drawn from diverse sectors such as corporate law, banking, capital markets, forensic audit, taxation, and information technology. The organization functions under the Government of India with its headquarters in Delhi and regional offices in Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Law Consultants
- Drafting complaints, petitions, affidavits, replies, and legal pleadings
- Appearing before courts and tribunals
- Assisting SFIO officers in prosecution and investigation matters
- Providing legal opinions and advisory support
- Keeping updated with developments in Corporate Law
Financial Analysis / Forensic Audit Consultants
- Analyzing financial statements and MCA21 database records
- Conducting forensic audit support
- Examining board minutes, directors’ reports, and financial schedules
- Preparing research and analytical reports
- Using spreadsheet and statistical tools for financial analysis
General Administration Consultants
- Handling establishment, policy, budget, coordination, and administrative matters
Mode of Work
Full-Time Engagement
Work locations include:
- Delhi Headquarters
- Regional Offices at Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata
Duration of Engagement
- Initial engagement period: 3 years
- Extendable by up to 2 additional years
- Maximum tenure: 5 years or till attaining 65 years of age, whichever is earlier
- Performance review every 6 months
Stipend / Remuneration
Young Professionals
- ₹60,000 per month
Junior Consultants
- ₹80,000 per month
Leave & Benefits
- 8 days leave per year on pro-rata basis
- TA/DA permissible for official travel with prior approval
- Women consultants may avail maternity leave as per Government instructions
Important Notes / Additional Information
- Engagement will be on a full-time basis
- Consultants cannot take up any parallel assignment during engagement
- Consultants will be required to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
- The contract may be terminated by SFIO without assigning reasons
- No additional allowances such as DA, accommodation, transport, or medical reimbursement will be provided
