About the Organization
The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), functioning under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, implements the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) for prevention and control of HIV/AIDS in India. The internship programme has been introduced to provide students and research scholars with practical exposure to public health policy formulation, implementation, research, and programme management.

Eligibility Criteria
Applications are invited from:
- Students pursuing Graduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil., or Ph.D. programmes from recognised universities
- Graduate students who have completed at least two years of their course
- Students enrolled in regular postgraduate degree/diploma programmes

Important Dates and Timelines
- Internship applications remain open throughout the year
- Applications should ideally reach at least 4 weeks before the proposed internship commencement date
- The NACO Internship Committee meets every month
- Candidates are required to submit applications by the 15th of every month for consideration
Internship Duration
- Minimum Duration: 2 Months
- Maximum Duration: 6 Months
Stipend / Perks
- Stipend: ₹8,000 per month
- Payable upon successful completion of the internship and acceptance of the internship report
- Internship Completion Certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion

Applicants are required to submit:
- Duly filled application form
- CV
- Synopsis of proposed internship topic
- 500-word write-up on benefits of the internship
- Identity proofs
- Recommendation/approval letter from institution
- Academic transcripts and supporting documents
Selection Procedure
- Applications are scrutinised by the NACO Internship Committee
- Shortlisted candidates may be called for personal interaction/interview
- Preference is given to candidates with strong academic records and research-oriented proposals relevant to NACO’s work
Important Notes / Additional Information
- This internship does not guarantee employment at NACO or any Government department
- Interns must maintain confidentiality regarding NACO data and records
- Candidates can apply only once during a financial year
- Students discontinuing the internship will not receive stipend or certificate
