About the Organization
The JSW Centre for the Future of Law, established in 2024 at NLSIU Bengaluru with the support of the JSW Foundation, focuses on advancing research, academic learning, and policy debates at the intersection of law, technology, and legal system reform. The Centre collaborates with academia, government bodies, regulators, civil society, and industry to promote interdisciplinary legal research in areas such as corporate governance, environmental law, health regulation, and emerging technologies.
Type / Nature of Opportunity
Internship Opportunity (Research-Based)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programme or a relevant postgraduate programme
- Be available for full-time, in-person work (40 hours per week) at NLSIU Bengaluru
- Possess strong research and analytical skills
- Demonstrate interest in the Centre’s thematic areas
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be capable of working independently under strict timelines
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Conduct doctrinal, empirical, and policy-oriented legal research
- Assist in data collection, coding, annotation, and analysis
- Work on AI and law projects, including evaluation of LLM outputs and dataset preparation
- Draft research outputs such as literature reviews, reports, and working papers
- Support workshops, conferences, and academic events
- Undertake administrative and coordination tasks related to research projects
Mode of Work
- Full-time, In-Person (NLSIU Campus, Bengaluru)
- 40 hours per week
- Remote work is not permitted
Important Dates and Timelines
- Programme Start: Rolling basis from May 2026
- Duration: Monthly cycles (first working day to last working day of each month)
- Note: Candidates should apply at least three weeks before their intended start date
