Manchester City is open to the potential of signing Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo from Serie A club Juventus, according to several media sources, after England captain Harry Kane pledged his immediate future to Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane declared on social media on Wednesday that he will not leave Tottenham this summer, thereby ending City’s pursuit of the striker in this transfer window.
City, on the other hand, is still looking for a striker following Sergio Aguero’s move to Barcelona. Ronaldo’s contract expires next summer, and Juventus wants to sell him to save money on his £500,000 per week salary plus tax.
The city is interested in bringing Ronaldo back to the Premier League on a free transfer, according to SkySports, and is willing to offer him a two-year contract worth £12.8 million (€15 million).
Cristiano Ronaldo has also informed his Juventus teammates of his intentions to depart the club. Jorge Mendes will call Manchester City directly today to negotiate Ronaldo’s salary – it will not be €31 million net per season as it is now – #MCFC Juventus are awaiting Manchester City’s official offer.

This comes just a week after Ronaldo broke his quiet on the transfer rumors around him, stating unequivocally that he would not return to Real Madrid since his tale there “had been written.”
There hasn’t been an official offer yet.
