About the Opportunity
The Young Professional Scheme aims to strengthen departmental representation before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal by engaging young graduates in Law and Accountancy with strong domain knowledge. Selected professionals will assist departmental officers in preparing cases for tribunal hearings and undertake research work in critical areas of tax litigation to support effective litigation management.

Educational Qualification
Essential Qualifications
- Indian nationals holding a Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Law from a recognized university or institution, and or Chartered Accountant
- Minimum 50 percent marks in 3-year LL.B., 5-year integrated LL.B., Post Graduation degree program, or qualified Chartered Accountant
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Accountants with completed articleship in taxation
- Law graduates or post graduates with prior research experience in taxation
- Skills in information and communication technology with good communication and interpersonal abilities

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the office of CIT (DR) or Senior DR at the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal
- Studying paper books of listed cases and analysing judgments relied upon by assessees
- Identifying judgments in favour of the department and distinguishing factual aspects
- Preparing briefing notes and written submissions
- Undertaking legal research on specific taxation issues as assigned
- Working under the guidance of the designated mentor for defined deliverables
