Through the Young Professional Scheme, the department aims to strengthen its representation before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal by engaging qualified legal and accountancy professionals.

Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Indian nationals holding a Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Law from a recognized university or institution, or
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Minimum 50 percent marks in 3-year LL.B., 5-year integrated LL.B., post-graduation, or CA qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Accountants with articleship experience in taxation
- Law graduates or post-graduates with research experience in taxation
- Skills in information and communication technology with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Age Limit
- Maximum 35 years as on the date of advertisement

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Assisting departmental officers in preparation of cases before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal
- Studying paper books of listed cases and analysing judgments relied upon by assessees
- Identifying favourable judgments for the department and distinguishing facts where applicable
- Preparing briefing notes and written submissions
- Undertaking research and study work on taxation and tax litigation as assigned
- Working under the guidance of CIT (DR) or Senior DR
