The National Human Rights Commission is a statutory public body established under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. It is entrusted with the protection and promotion of human rights relating to life, liberty, equality, and dignity as guaranteed by the Constitution of India and international covenants enforceable in India.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Students in the 3rd year or onwards of a 5-year integrated postgraduate course
- Students in the 3rd year or final year of a graduation course
- Students of any semester or year of a postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma course
- Research scholars in any discipline
- Minimum 60 percent marks in Class XII and all subsequent courses
- Age should not exceed 28 years as on 1 January 2026
- Applicants must clearly mention percentage calculated from CGPA or SGPA along with the conversion formula
Duration
- Two weeks
- Internship period: 9 March 2026 to 20 March 2026
- Working hours: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
Mode of Work

Stipend / Perks
- Stipend of Rs 2,000 upon successful completion
- Certificate of Participation subject to:
- Mandatory attendance, punctuality, discipline, and participation
- Timely submission of project presentation, project report, and book review

- Statement of Purpose of 250 words on the topic “Statement of Purpose for joining NHRC Online Short Term Internship”
- Self-attested scanned copies of mark sheets from Class XII onwards, including current course
- Scanned recommendation letter or email from the Head of Department, Dean, or Principal in the prescribed proforma
