About the Organization
Department of Legal Affairs functions under the Ministry of Law and Justice and was established in 1961. The Department primarily provides legal advisory services to various Ministries and departments of the Government of India and represents the Union of India before courts and tribunals.

Eligibility Criteria
- Indian students who have completed 2nd year of a 3-year LL.B. programme, or 3rd year of a 5-year LL.B. programme.
- Law graduates from recognized universities or law schools.
- Preference will be given to candidates with advanced computer knowledge (MS Office, infographics, Adobe, etc.).
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Interns will gain exposure to:
- Legal research and referencing work
- Understanding court functioning
- Legal advisory work across diverse areas of law including:
- Constitutional Law
- Administrative Law
- Finance Law
- Infrastructure Law
- Economic Law
- Labour Law
- Conveyancing
- Arbitration
- Contract Law
Mode of Work
Offline / On-site
Locations include: New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.
Important Dates and Timelines
- Duration: 1 month
- Internships generally begin from the first working day of every month.
- Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (full-time).
Stipend / Perks
- Honorarium: ₹1,000 upon successful completion of the internship.
