About the Job
Meta is seeking a highly motivated Outreach Manager (Legal) to join its India team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies, government authorities, regulators, and industry coalitions, with a strong emphasis on internet safety and security. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact issues in a fast-paced, global environment and involves frequent travel within India and occasional international travel.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree including a law degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic outreach with law enforcement, security agencies, regulators, government bodies, data protection authorities, financial institutions, or internet industry associations
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional project management skills
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Willingness to work off-hours, weekends, and holidays when required for emergency matters
- Fluency in English and at least one additional Indian language
- Willingness to travel frequently within India and occasionally outside the region
Preferred Qualifications
- Technological fluency with alignment to Meta’s mission and culture
- Understanding of internet-related domains such as cybercrime, child safety, human trafficking, frauds and scams, illicit drugs or firearms, or terrorism
- Knowledge of Indian laws relating to law enforcement data requests and regulations governing intermediary platforms
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Developing and managing strategic relationships with law enforcement, government, and industry stakeholders
- Representing Meta on key law enforcement and public safety matters before officials, regulators, and civil society
- Collaborating with internal teams and global safety organizations on mitigation of frauds, scams, and other high-risk harms
- Designing and executing country-specific programs on online safety, privacy, and security
- Managing Meta’s response in crisis situations involving law enforcement
- Monitoring and analyzing technology and social media related law enforcement issues impacting user safety
- Partnering with legal, public policy, product, and communications teams on external engagement
- Educating law enforcement agencies on Meta’s privacy policies and legal request processes
- Supporting internal policy development with Meta’s Legal Team and external counsel for handling legal requests from Indian authorities
