Eligibility Criteria
- LL.B. (Mandatory)
- LL.M. in Environmental Law, Business Law, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Exposure to carbon finance and corporate law
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Carbon Finance & Commercial Transactions
- Review and negotiate Carbon Credit Purchase Agreements and ERPAs
- Advise on investment structuring for carbon projects and SPV jurisdiction planning
- Draft forward sales, revenue-sharing agreements, and blended finance documentation
- Assess risk-return structures, delivery schedules, price floors/ceilings, and termination clauses
Regulatory & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with VCS, Gold Standard, CDM, ICVCM frameworks
- Advise on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and national carbon trading regulations
- Conduct legal risk assessments for carbon sequestration projects
Corporate & Commercial Advisory
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, MOUs, and service agreements
- Advise on fundraising, investor agreements, corporate structuring
- Handle employment law, data protection, and intellectual property matters
- Ensure corporate governance compliance and statutory filings
Dispute & Risk Management
- Monitor evolving environmental and corporate regulations
- Assist in dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation matters
- Coordinate with external counsel and regulatory authorities
Skills & Competencies Required
- Strong commercial and strategic judgement
- Understanding of carbon markets, ESG regulations, and climate finance
- Experience in regulatory compliance and corporate governance
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
