About The Square Circle Clinic
The Square Circle Clinic is a criminal justice initiative of NALSAR University of Law with offices in New Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad. The Clinic provides pro bono criminal defence to death row prisoners and undertrial prisoners, and undertakes research and advocacy on issues such as the death penalty, forensics, punishment, science and technology in criminal justice, prevention of torture, legal aid, and mental health. The team earlier functioned as Project 39A and transitioned to NALSAR in April 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate degree in Law is mandatory
- Familiarity with criminal law and the Indian criminal justice system is preferred
- Minimum two years of work experience is desirable
- Proficiency in English and at least one Indian language is preferred
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Contributing to the design and execution of the Clinic’s research agenda
- Undertaking academic and policy-oriented research on criminal justice issues
- Assisting in drafting research outputs, reports, and publications
- Supporting implementation of ongoing research and outreach initiatives
Mode of Work
Offline / In-office
Location: New Delhi
Salary / Remuneration
- Monthly remuneration ranging between ₹65,000 and ₹80,000
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience
