Position Details
- Job Title: Animal Cruelty Response Officer
- Organization: People for Animals (PFA), Head Office
- Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Social Work
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Candidates with prior exposure to animal welfare through internships, volunteering, or field-based work may also apply
- Working knowledge of Indian animal welfare laws and procedures
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive situations with maturity and empathy
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Responding to and resolving complaints related to cruelty against companion and community animals
- Coordinating with police authorities, RWAs, municipal bodies, and community stakeholders
- Liaising with volunteers and partner organizations for follow-up action
- Facilitating emergency veterinary care, rescue, and shelter support
- Drafting legal notices and assisting with documentation and litigation support
- Conducting outreach and awareness activities on animal welfare laws
- Developing preventive strategies to address and reduce animal cruelty in urban settings
