About the Fellowship
The Legislative Assistants to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship offers young Indians a unique chance to work full-time with a Member of Parliament (MP) and gain in-depth exposure to legislative processes, policy-making and governance. The Fellowship runs from the Monsoon Session to the end of the Budget Session.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Candidate must be 25 years or younger (born on or after June 1, 1998).
- Must be an Indian citizen.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Fellows will support their assigned MP with legislative and research work including:
- Legislative research and drafting inputs for bills.
- Preparing parliamentary questions.
- Drafting speeches, notes and background material for debates.
- Providing research support for Standing Committee meetings.
- Data analysis and policy research across diverse domains including defence, environment, economics and foreign affairs.
- Media-related work such as drafting press releases or interventions.
- Research support for conferences and constituency-related tasks (as agreed with the MP).
- Interacting with stakeholders and policy experts.
- Participating in workshops, expert sessions and field visits during Parliament recess.
Duration
- Begins mid-June with a one-month intensive training.
- Full-time engagement with MP from Monsoon Session till the end of the following Budget Session (10–11 months).
Stipend
- Rs 23,000 per month.
Important Dates and Timelines
- Last date to apply: 11:45 PM IST, December 21, 2025.
- Mandatory online evaluation test for shortlisted candidates: January 4, 2026 (Sunday).

- Two essays of 500 words each:
- Statement of purpose for the Fellowship.
- Policy analysis essay on any issue.
- Note: Essays must be original and written in English. AI-generated or plagiarized essays lead to automatic rejection.
The form contains eight sections covering personal details, academic qualifications, experience, languages and essays.
