The chairman of the Pakistan cricket board, Ramiz Raja showed his disappointment at England’s decision to withdraw from their upcoming cricket tournament on the land of Pakistan in October.
This decision of England came just after New Zealand returned home from the Pakistani land, Rawalpindi, due to security reasons. New Zealand was to play 3ODI matches and 5 T20 matches. But before the toss of the first ODI match, New Zealand pulls out of Pakistan. Ramiz Raja said that it is like a reminder to the Pakistan team to emerge as the best team.
He said, Disappointed with England pulling out of their commitment. They back out when we were in very much need of it. Inshallah, we still survive. It is like a challenge given to the Pakistan cricket team to emerge as the best team so that in the future no one can back out without playing with such a wonderful team.
While elaborating the decision, The England and Wales Cricket Board apologized to the Pakistan cricket board and said that the security and mental well-being of their players is paramount and it is the only reason for their withdrawal. They said we know that PCB will be disappointed with our decision because they have worked hard to host the return of international cricket on their own land. We are very sorry for the impact which they are going to suffer on the cricket in Pakistan and emphasize an upcoming commitment to our main touring plans there for 2022.
The ECB gave the statement that their priority is the mental and physical stability and well-being of their players in a foreign land. They said that it will arise complexity in the upcoming T20 world cup. It will not be ideal preparation for such big matches.
Ramiz Raja hit hard at New Zealand cricket for pulling out of the cricket tournament, saying it was their unilateral decision. He exclaimed; it has been so crazy. I am feeling sorry for cricket enthusiasts. At last, he said New Zealand will hear us at ICC for the decision they took.
