After three days of Virat Kohli’s announcement of his decision to step down as the captain of India’s T20 team. On Sunday late night, he again made a big announcement about the change of guard for the Royal challengers Bangalore from the next season of IPL.
On the eve of RCB’s match with Kolkata night riders, Virat Kohli announced his decision as he is going to quit his captainship of RCB but will play as a player for RCB till his last game in IPL. He further said about his background in the RCB team. He is playing for RCB for the last 9 years. He joined the team as a U-19 player. This was again shocking news for the cricket lovers and Virat’s fans after he announced his decision of stepping down from the T-20 captaincy. He said that after an immense workload, I will not be able to hold this responsibility anymore.
Over the many years, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team has left spectators confused as this team has never won the trophy in an IPL match. They ended till the semi-finals but never won the trophy of IPL. This happened three times. All these losses to the esteemed team of Bangalore have led to Kohli’s captaincy coming under the scanner.
When Virat Kohli was asked about his decision of quitting the captaincy he said that I felt that I need space to recharge or refresh and to be very clear in how should I forward ahead.
In his short message he reiterated that he would be the only player for RCB, he does not have any wish to switch to the IPL team. He will continue to be a player for RCB till his last match in IPL. He summed up his journey as a player of RCB by saying that all these 9 years with RCB were full of joy, happiness, and learning. This is just a halt for better performance, it is not the end of my journey. Very soon this journey will restart in the same way.
