Position Title
Legal Research Consultant (Young Professional)
About the Opportunity
The NHRC has invited applications for empanelment of young law professionals as Legal Research Consultants on a contractual basis. The role involves legal research, scrutiny of complaints, drafting proceedings, and assisting the Commission in various legal and administrative functions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a reputed law school or college
- Minimum of 70% marks or equivalent grade in LL.B.
- Candidates must be below 32 years of age as on the date of advertisement
- Preference may be given to candidates with higher academic performance or additional qualifications such as LL.M.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Scrutiny and registration of human rights complaints
- Legal research and preparation of case summaries
- Drafting of proceedings and legal correspondence
- Assisting in court matters where NHRC is a party
- Supporting workshops, reports, video conferences, and policy-related work
- Any other tasks assigned by the Commission
Mode of Work
Offline (Full-time Contractual Role)
Location: New Delhi
Candidates are required to stay in Delhi during the period of engagement.
Duration of Engagement
- Initial term of 2 years
- Extendable by up to 3 additional years
- Maximum total engagement period: 5 years, subject to performance and organizational requirements
Remuneration
- Payment based on units of work completed
- Maximum remuneration up to ₹75,000 per month
- Annual enhancement of 5% may be granted based on performance after one year
