About the Opportunity
TRAI has invited applications for engagement of Associate Consultant (Legal) on a contractual basis at its Headquarters in New Delhi. The position offers hands-on exposure to regulatory law, telecom and broadcasting litigation, and policy-related legal work at the national level.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in Regulatory Law or Communication Engineering
- Proficiency in legal research databases such as SCC Online and Manupatra
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Age Limit
- Maximum 30 years as on the date of issue of the vacancy circular
Experience
- Minimum experience: Not required. Freshers may apply
- Desirable experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in legal matters
- Exposure to regulatory laws, litigation, telecom, or broadcasting regulation

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and vetting regulations, tariff orders, and legal documents
- Preparation of case briefs and assistance in litigation management
- Coordination with Advocates, AORs, and Senior Counsel representing TRAI
- Conducting legal research and comparative regulatory analysis, both domestic and international
- Maintaining court-wise and category-wise litigation databases
- Providing legal inputs using online legal research platforms
- Attending court proceedings, physical or virtual
