Position: Legal Counsel
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess:
- LL.B. degree from a recognized Indian university.
- 6–9 years of relevant post-qualification experience (PQE) in law firms and/or in-house legal teams.
- Experience in employment law and data privacy matters will be preferred.
- Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple legal matters and stakeholders.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Employment Law
- Advise on employment contracts, HR policies, employee terminations, and workplace disputes.
- Provide guidance on labour law compliance requirements.
- Draft and review employment-related documentation.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting employment practices.
Data Privacy & Protection
- Advise on compliance with Indian data protection and privacy laws.
- Draft and review privacy policies, data processing agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Support internal teams in implementing privacy compliance measures.
Contracts & Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, including:
- Service Agreements
- Vendor Agreements
- Independent Contractor Agreements
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Conduct legal risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
- Standardize and streamline contractual documentation and templates.
Regulatory & General Advisory
- Provide day-to-day legal support to business and operational teams.
- Advise on the launch of new business initiatives and expansion of existing operations.
- Conduct internal legal training sessions on employment law, privacy, and compliance matters.
- Assist in developing and implementing internal legal policies.
- Identify regulatory gaps and implement corrective action plans.
- Support regulatory registrations, approvals, and licensing requirements.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and consultants when required.
