Position: Legal Counsel
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold an LL.B. degree from a recognized Indian university.
- Possess 6–9 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a law firm or an in-house legal team.
- Have experience in employment law and data privacy matters (preferred).
- Demonstrate strong drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills.
- Be capable of independently managing multiple legal matters simultaneously.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Employment Law
- Advise on employment contracts, HR policies, employee terminations, and workplace disputes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws.
- Draft and review employment-related legal documentation.
- Monitor regulatory developments and recommend policy updates.
Data Privacy & Protection
- Advise on compliance with Indian data protection and privacy laws.
- Draft and review privacy policies, data processing agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Support business teams in implementing privacy compliance measures.
Contracts & Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including:
- Service Agreements
- Vendor Agreements
- Independent Contractor Agreements
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Identify legal risks during contract negotiations and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and standardize contract templates.
Regulatory & General Advisory
- Provide day-to-day legal advisory support to business stakeholders.
- Advise on legal aspects of new business initiatives and expansion projects.
- Conduct internal training sessions on employment law, data privacy, and other legal topics.
- Assist in developing and implementing internal legal policies.
- Identify regulatory compliance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
- Support regulatory registrations, licenses, and statutory approvals.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and consultants whenever required.
