Position: Legal Associate
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold a professional qualification in Law.
- Possess 3–5 years of hands-on experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
- Have experience working in a large and complex business environment.
- Demonstrate strong contract negotiation and risk assessment skills.
- Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Be capable of collaborating with teams across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the consumer goods or retail sector.
- Understanding of procurement processes and supplier relationship management from a legal perspective.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Legal Operations
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Support Unilever’s Europe and Greater Asia markets on legal and operational matters.
- Maintain accurate legal records and documentation.
- Facilitate submission of documents to regulatory and official authorities.
- Support legal process simplification and technology-driven innovation initiatives.
- Collaborate with legal teams across multiple jurisdictions.
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with third parties.
- Negotiate contractual terms using Unilever templates or third-party agreements while protecting the company’s interests.
- Ensure appropriate contractual safeguards and schedules are incorporated into supplier agreements.
- Coordinate with legal subject-matter experts to ensure the use of updated contractual clauses and templates.
Governance & Compliance
- Monitor changes to standard contractual provisions.
- Identify legal risks and deviations from approved contractual standards.
- Maintain and update internal contract templates.
- Recommend and implement improvements to contract management processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Support and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Data Privacy, HR, Digital Marketing teams, and external legal counsel.
