Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold a professional qualification in Law (LL.B. or equivalent).
- Have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation.
- Possess experience working in a large and complex business environment involving legal risk assessment and commercial decision-making.
- Demonstrate strong contract negotiation and communication skills.
- Be capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple countries and time zones.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting Unilever’s Africa and Indonesia markets with legal research, analysis, and operational legal tasks.
- Maintaining accurate legal records, files, and documentation.
- Managing the submission of documents to relevant statutory and regulatory authorities.
- Supporting the administration and management of commercial contracts.
- Negotiating contractual terms and conditions with third parties while safeguarding Unilever’s commercial interests.
- Reviewing supplier agreements and ensuring appropriate contractual schedules and risk management provisions are incorporated.
- Coordinating with regional legal teams to ensure the use of updated contractual templates and clauses.
- Identifying contractual risks, deviations from standard clauses, and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
- Maintaining and updating internal contract templates and legal documentation.
- Driving process improvements and legal technology initiatives to enhance the efficiency of legal service delivery.
- Building and managing relationships with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, Digital Marketing, Data Privacy teams, and external legal counsel.
