About the Organization
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, is responsible for promoting industrial development and facilitating ease of doing business in India. The internship scheme aims to provide students with exposure to government functioning and policy implementation.

Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing:
- Undergraduate / Postgraduate degrees
- Research Scholars enrolled in recognized institutions (India or abroad)
- Eligible domains include:
- Law
- Engineering
- Management
- Economics
- Finance
- Computer Science
- Library Management
- Candidates from other disciplines may also be considered on a case-to-case basis
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Exposure to government policies and schemes
- Research and analytical work
- Preparation of reports/papers based on assigned tasks
- Understanding administrative functioning of DPIIT

Offline (Government Office based, DPIIT divisions/sections)
Important Dates and Timelines
- Application Window:
- 1st March to 30th April
- 1st September to 31st October
- Internship Duration:
- Minimum: 1 Month
- Maximum: 3 Months
- Internship Period:
- June to August (for March–April applications)
- November to January (for September–October applications)
Stipend / Perks
- Stipend: ₹10,000 per month
- Experience Certificate upon successful completion
- Exposure to policy-making and government functioning
Selection Procedure
- Applications are shortlisted by DPIIT divisions based on requirements
- Final selection is made with approval from the concerned authority
- Selected candidates receive an official offer from DPIIT

Important Notes / Additional Information
- Maximum number of interns at a time: 20
- Interns must submit a report/paper at the end of the internship
- Certificate and stipend are granted only upon satisfactory completion
- Incomplete internships will not be eligible for stipend or certification
