About the Organization
Project 39A is a criminal justice programme based at National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi). Inspired by Article 39A of the Constitution of India, the project works towards promoting equal justice and equal opportunity through empirical research, pro bono litigation, and policy engagement. Its work focuses on critical issues within India’s criminal justice system, including legal aid, torture, forensics, mental health, and the death penalty.
