About the Organization
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is a statutory body constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. It is entrusted with providing free legal services to the weaker sections of society and organizing Lok Adalats for the amicable settlement of disputes. Through its Internship Programme 2026, NALSA aims to provide law students with practical exposure to the functioning of the legal aid system and promote access to justice.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Be pursuing a Three-Year LL.B. course or a Five-Year Integrated Law Course from a recognized University, College, or Institution.
- Preference will be given to:
- Students in the 3rd to 5th year of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course.
- Students in the 2nd to 3rd year of the Three-Year LL.B. Course.
Areas of Work / Learning
Selected interns will receive practical exposure to:
- Functioning of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
- Legal Services Institutions across Delhi.
- Legal aid mechanisms and access to justice initiatives.
- Reading materials including NALSA schemes, SOPs, modules, and statistical reports.
- Field visits to:
- Delhi State Legal Services Authority.
- District Legal Services Authorities.
- Legal Aid Defense Counsel Offices.
- National Lok Adalat.
- Remand Courts.
- CAW Cells.
- DM Office.
- Supreme Court Mediation Centre.
- Supreme Court Library.
- Supreme Court Legal Services Committee.

Duration
- One Month (Four Weeks)
- Internship commences on the 1st day of every month.
Stipend / Perks
- Internship Certificate upon successful completion.
- Exposure to legal aid institutions and field visits.
- Orientation programme and interaction with NALSA officials.
Please Note:
- No stipend or remuneration will be provided.
- No TA/DA will be paid.
- No Letter of Recommendation will be issued.
- Internship Certificate will be awarded only upon maintaining at least 90% attendance.
Application Process
Interested students must apply online only through the official NALSA website.
Applicants are required to submit:
- Online Application Form.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.
- Expression of Interest (one page or less explaining interest and suitability).
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Dean, Head of Department, Internship & Placement Committee, or any competent authority, clearly mentioning the student’s course and semester/year.
Selection will be made through a draw of lots, and the decision of the Competent Authority shall be final.

Important Notes
- The internship is a full-time physical programme, and interns cannot pursue any other course or work during the internship period.
- Office timings are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.
- Interns must arrange their own accommodation and carry their own laptops.
- Formal Black & White dress code, as prescribed by the Bar Council of Delhi, must be followed.
- Interns may be required to travel locally for field visits and institutional exposure.
