The Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), established in 2009 and functioning under the aegis of the Delhi High Court, is one of India’s leading arbitral institutions. It focuses on promoting efficient and cost-effective dispute resolution through arbitration and offers state-of-the-art infrastructure along with a distinguished panel of arbitrators.
Type / Nature of Opportunity
Internship Opportunity (Legal Internship in Arbitration & ADR)
Eligibility Criteria
- Law students in:
- 3rd year or above of a 5-year LL.B. program, or
- 2nd year or above of a 3-year LL.B. program
- LLM or PhD scholars in law
- Preference given to candidates with interest or knowledge in Arbitration, Mediation, and Conciliation
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in research and drafting related to arbitration cases
- Reviewing and analyzing legal submissions
- Supporting case management and institutional processes
- Contributing to preparation of conferences, presentations, and publications
- Engaging in projects related to policy and institutional development
Mode of Work
Offline (On-site) at DIAC, Delhi High Court premises, New Delhi
Important Dates and Timelines
- Duration: 4 weeks (extendable up to 8 weeks)
- Internship begins from the first week of every month
- Application Deadline: At least one month prior to the desired internship period
Stipend / Perks
- Unpaid internship
- Certificate awarded upon successful completion (subject to attendance and compliance)
- Practical exposure to arbitration proceedings and institutional functioning

Selection Procedure
- Applications are evaluated by the DIAC Secretariat based on CV, Statement of Interest, and Letter of Reference
- Maximum 20 interns selected per cycle
- Selection confirmation is sent via email
- Seats are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis after selection
Important Notes / Additional Information
- Applicants must maintain confidentiality during the internship
- No travel or other expenses will be reimbursed
- Late applications may be considered for subsequent batches at the discretion of the Coordinator
