Legal Compliance Job Opportunity – Compliance Officer
Eligibility Criteria
- Law degree from a recognised institution.
- LL.M. or another relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- Preferably qualified or enrolled to practise law in at least one jurisdiction within the Indian Sub-continent (ISC).
- 5–13 years of relevant experience in legal compliance, investigations, or as a compliance officer.
- Experience in multinational companies, healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries is preferred.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within the Indian Sub-continent as required.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the annual compliance programme for the Indian Sub-continent Zone (ISC).
- Advise business teams on legal and regulatory compliance matters.
- Conduct and coordinate internal investigations arising from SpeakUp reports and other reporting channels.
- Perform compliance risk assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.
- Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes.
- Monitor compliance controls and oversee remediation initiatives.
- Conduct due diligence and ongoing monitoring of distributors, channel partners, consultants, and other third parties.
- Provide legal advice on:
- Anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
- Healthcare compliance.
- Competition and antitrust law.
- Privacy and data protection.
- Export controls, trade restrictions, and sanctions.
- Conflicts of interest.
- Gifts, hospitality, sponsorships, grants, and donations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Regulatory, Quality, and Information Security teams.
- Contribute to Philips’ global compliance programme by sharing best practices and advising on emerging regulatory risks.
