The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory body established under the Competition Act, 2002, with the objective of promoting and sustaining competition in markets, protecting consumer interests, and ensuring freedom of trade in India. The internship programme is designed to familiarize students with competition law and its practical applications.

Eligibility Criteria
The internship is open to Indian nationals enrolled in recognized institutions and universities with exposure to Competition Law. Eligible law students include:
- Second and third-year students of the 3-year LL.B. programme.
- Fourth and final-year students of the 5-year integrated law programme.
- Students who have completed the third year and are entering the fourth year of a 5-year integrated law course.
- LL.M. students.
Note: Students having a placement offer in hand are not eligible to apply.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Selected interns will:
- Receive an induction programme on the Competition Act, 2002.
- Work with various divisions of the Commission under the supervision of designated officers.
- Undertake research and assignments related to competition law and policy.
- Deliver a presentation on their work at the conclusion of the internship.
Mode of Work
- Offline / In-Person Internship
- Location: Competition Commission of India, New Delhi
Duration
- Normally one month, commencing on the first working day of the month.
- Students seeking internships for 2–3 months may also apply with a recommendation from their institution.
Stipend / Perks
- Honorarium of ₹15,000 per month.
- Internship Certificate upon successful completion of the programme.
- Access to office facilities, computer resources, and the Commission’s library.

Applicants must:
- Submit the prescribed application form.
- Obtain a recommendation from their academic institution.
- Attach a Statement of Purpose (approximately 200 words) outlining the topic and objectives of the proposed study.
- Apply by the 1st day of the month preceding the intended internship month. For example, applications for December must reach by 1st November.
Selection Procedure
- Applications are screened based on eligibility and completeness.
- Each month, up to 15 interns are generally selected, though the number may be relaxed in deserving cases.
Important Notes
- Internship is a full-time programme and interns must adhere to the Commission’s working hours.
- Applications without institutional recommendation or Statement of Purpose are liable to be rejected.
- Interns must undertake to maintain confidentiality regarding matters relating to the Commission.
- The internship is meant for academic exposure and does not guarantee employment with CCI.
