About the Opportunity
A self-employed legal practitioner is inviting applications for a full-time, on-site Junior Lawyer position in Kolkata. The role primarily involves supporting Direct Tax litigation and related legal matters.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have:
- LL.B. degree
- Bar Council enrolment, or willingness to complete the enrolment process
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and court practices
- Proficiency in legal drafting and case analysis
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and maintain accurate records
- Professional integrity and commitment to confidentiality
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist with:
- Drafting legal documents, appeals, notices, pleadings, and written opinions
- Reviewing case files and preparing briefs for Direct Tax matters
- Conducting research on statutes, regulations, and case law
- Preparing appeal drafts, submissions, and other legal documents
- Analysing legal issues and assisting with case strategy
- Coordinating with clients and participating in meetings
- Supporting court appearances through document preparation and organisation
- Maintaining case files, records, and case calendars
- Assisting with general administrative work related to legal matters
