Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold an LL.B., J.D., or an equivalent law degree.
- Have a strong understanding of Indian legislation, statutory interpretation, and legislative research.
- Possess excellent legal research, analytical, legal writing, and editorial skills.
- Have experience in interpreting legislative amendments and maintaining legislative publications or legal databases.
- Be familiar with AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering.
- Have knowledge of Agile methodologies and collaborative product development.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and XML, with an interest in emerging legal technologies.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Legislative Analysis
- Monitoring Central and State legislation, Bills, subordinate legislation, and related legal developments.
- Analysing legislative amendments and updating statutory content across LexisNexis platforms.
- Preparing legislative histories, editor’s notes, commencement information, effective date notes, statutory annotations, and cross-references.
- Developing legislative roadmaps covering amendments, repeals, commencement provisions, transitional provisions, and consequential legislative changes.
- Conducting legal research to verify legislative citations and statutory history.
- Performing editorial review and quality assurance to ensure legislative content remains accurate and up to date.
- Supporting the publication and expansion of Indian legislative collections.
AI-Enabled Editorial Work
- Reviewing and validating AI-generated legislative analysis, summaries, metadata, and editorial content.
- Identifying opportunities to improve AI prompts, editorial workflows, and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborating with technology and product teams to enhance AI-powered editorial solutions.
Project & Product Management
- Delivering legislative updates in line with editorial schedules and service standards.
- Managing multiple legislative projects simultaneously.
- Supporting new legislation onboarding and product enhancement initiatives.
- Participating in product reviews and continuous content improvement.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborating with editorial, product, technology, production, and operations teams.
- Working with external contributors and legal experts where required.
- Providing subject-matter expertise on Indian legislation.
- Responding to customer feedback and legislative content queries.
Continuous Improvement
- Contributing to improvements in editorial standards and publishing workflows.
- Supporting automation initiatives and scalable editorial processes.
- Keeping abreast of developments in Indian legislation, legal publishing, and legal technology.
