Legal Job Opportunity – Legal Counsel
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold an LL.B. degree from a recognized institution (Tier I & Tier II law schools preferred).
- Have 5–8 years of corporate legal experience.
- Preferably possess experience in the banking sector or leading NBFCs.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in banking transactions, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal advisory.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing legal support and advice for Large Corporate Banking, Wholesale Banking, Structured Finance, Trade Finance, and Transaction Banking products.
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and updating standard agreements, templates, and legal documentation.
- Advising business teams on transaction structuring, legal risks, and contractual matters.
- Managing legal affairs and mitigating legal risks across the Bank’s operations.
- Conducting legal due diligence for transactions, including property-related matters and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinating with external legal counsels and handling litigation-related documentation, including complaints, affidavits, replies, and miscellaneous applications.
- Supporting civil, criminal, and debt recovery matters.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments affecting banking operations and recommending appropriate action plans.
- Advising on new product launches, commercial agreements, and contractual risk management.
- Supporting business functions including Finance, Compliance, Human Resources, and affiliated entities on legal matters.
- Supervising litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
- Assisting the General Counsel and Corporate Legal Head in implementing legal policies, governance practices, and compliance frameworks.
