Legal Job Opportunity – Senior Manager (Legal)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold an LL.B. or B.A. LL.B. degree from a reputed law school (LL.M. preferred).
- Be enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- Have 7–10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Preferably possess prior experience at a reputed law firm followed by an in-house legal role.
- Have prior in-house experience in e-commerce, marketplace, fintech, or auto/mobility businesses.
- Exposure to intellectual property, data privacy (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), or lending/insurance regulatory frameworks will be an added advantage.
- Experience in setting up or scaling a compliance function in a fast-growing organization is preferred.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Contracts & Commercial Legal
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, supplier and OEM contracts, service agreements, technology licensing agreements, SaaS/software agreements, NDAs, MoUs, and distribution/dealership agreements.
- Managing the complete contract lifecycle from drafting to execution and post-execution obligations.
- Developing and maintaining contract templates, playbooks, and standard negotiation positions.
- Advising business teams on contract structures, risk allocation, and commercial negotiations.
- Collaborating with procurement, sales, product, and operations teams to facilitate efficient deal execution.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Advising on legal and regulatory issues relating to the Motor Vehicles Act, Information Technology Act, Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, consumer protection laws, and FDI/FEMA regulations.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of compliance frameworks, internal policies, and governance controls.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serving as the primary legal advisor for assigned business verticals.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks in commercial transactions and business decisions.
- Mentoring junior legal professionals and reviewing their work.
- Coordinating with external legal counsel and managing legal engagements.
- Advising business, product, finance, and leadership teams on strategic legal matters.
