Eligibility Criteria
For Assistant Manager (Law)
Age (as on 31 May 2026):
- Minimum: 25 Years
- Maximum: 32 Years
Educational Qualification
- Graduate with a Degree in Law from a recognized university in India.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have completed a 5-year integrated law course.
Experience
Applicants must have any one of the following:
- 2 years’ experience as a practicing Advocate after enrolment with the Bar Council; or
- 2 years’ experience as a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; or
- Combined 2 years’ experience as a practicing Advocate and Law Officer.
For Deputy Manager (Law)
Age (as on 31 May 2026):
- Minimum: 25 Years
- Maximum: 35 Years
Educational Qualification
- Graduate with a Degree in Law from a recognized university in India.
- Preference may be given to candidates holding a 5-year integrated law degree.
Experience
Applicants must have any one of the following:
- 4 years’ experience as a practicing Advocate after enrolment with the Bar Council; or
- 4 years’ experience as a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; or
- Combined 4 years’ experience as a practicing Advocate and Law Officer.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Selected officers will be responsible for:
- Providing legal opinions on various legal issues.
- Drafting, vetting and negotiating agreements, contracts, deeds and legal documents.
- Supporting operational teams in legal risk management.
- Handling litigation and attending judicial and quasi-judicial forums whenever required.
- Coordinating with statutory and regulatory authorities.
- Liaising with advocates and legal professionals.
- Conducting title investigation of properties wherever required.
- Performing other legal responsibilities assigned by the Bank.

- Full-Time
- Regular Government Service
- Posting anywhere in India, at the discretion of SBI.
Salary / Pay Scale
Assistant Manager (Law) – JMGS-I
- Basic Pay: ₹48,480 – ₹85,920
Deputy Manager (Law) – MMGS-II
- Basic Pay: ₹64,820 – ₹93,960
