Position: Legal Counsel
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law.
- Have at least 8 years of experience in contract review, drafting, and negotiations.
- Possess experience working in an international law firm or multinational corporation (preferred).
- Demonstrate strong contract negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Have strong knowledge of international maritime and logistics law (preferred).
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Be fluent in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of an additional foreign language will be an advantage.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing complex maritime, logistics, and commercial agreements.
- Managing contracts involving key clients and strategic business partners.
- Leading contract negotiations with customers and external stakeholders.
- Supporting Maersk’s global customer contracting agenda through risk-aware and commercially aligned contract management.
- Partnering with commercial teams, product teams, and business stakeholders to achieve balanced contractual outcomes.
- Providing legal advice on contractual risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with internal legal policies and business objectives.
- Leading stakeholder alignment discussions and contributing to negotiation strategies, contract playbooks, and fallback positions.
- Supporting quality oversight and onboarding of new team members.
- Mentoring junior legal professionals and contributing to team development.
- Assisting in legal knowledge management initiatives, including templates and best-practice guidance.
- Monitoring legal, commercial, and industry developments relevant to the business.
