Legal Associate
Mode of Work

- Location: Gurugram, Haryana (The role may also support operations across India and regional offices.)
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a reputed university
- Must be admitted to the Bar
- 2–5 years of relevant legal experience
- Experience in a combination of law firm practice and in-house legal roles preferred
- Strong understanding of Indian corporate and commercial laws
- Experience in regulatory advisory, compliance, or transactional support is preferred
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Advisory Support
- Conduct legal research and analysis on Indian laws and regulations
- Advise on corporate, commercial, employment, licensing, and sector-specific regulations
- Assist in regulatory compliance assessments
- Prepare legal opinions, regulatory memoranda, and advisory reports
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in India
Corporate & Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate:
- Service Agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Partnership Agreements
- Vendor Agreements
- Other commercial contracts
- Support company incorporation, corporate structuring, and licensing matters
- Assist in due diligence for transactions and investment projects
- Liaise with regulators, government authorities, and external counsel
Dispute Management
- Assist in handling disputes and claims
- Coordinate with internal teams, counterparties, regulators, and external counsel
- Support fact-finding exercises and preparation of dispute-related documentation
Regional & Cross-Border Coordination
- Support multi-jurisdictional and cross-border projects
- Coordinate with regional legal and business teams
- Assist in harmonizing compliance processes and risk frameworks
Internal Governance & Risk
- Support compliance, governance, and risk management initiatives
- Maintain legal records and documentation
- Develop legal templates and internal best practices
Required Skills
- Strong legal drafting, analytical, and research skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Commercial awareness and business-oriented approach
- Ability to balance legal risks with business objectives
- Strong organizational and deadline-management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
