About the Organization

Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) is a Schedule ‘A’ Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Incorporated in 2021, AWEIL is engaged in the manufacture and supply of weapon systems, small arms, tank gun articles, and ammunition components through its production units across India.

Position Details

  • Position: Legal Expert
  • Number of Posts: 01 (UR)
  • Nature of Appointment: Full-Time Contract Basis
  • Initial Tenure: 1 Year
  • Extension: Extendable annually up to an additional 3 years based on performance and organizational requirements

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University/Institute recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Registration with any State Bar Council in India.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) or higher qualifications will be preferred.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification legal experience in Central Government, State Government, PSU, Statutory Bodies, or reputed organizations.
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate, commercial, labour, industrial, taxation, land acquisition, contract, and arbitration laws.

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications.

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and vetting legal documents, notices, agreements, pleadings, affidavits, contracts, MOUs, JV agreements, EOI and RFP conditions, PPP agreements, lease agreements, and related legal instruments.
  • Providing legal opinions and advisory services on contractual disputes, service matters, disciplinary proceedings, taxation, arbitration, and corporate law issues.
  • Handling legal notices and legal queries.
  • Representing and defending AWEIL before courts, tribunals, forums, statutory authorities, and quasi-judicial bodies.

  • Offline
  • Place of Posting: AWEIL Corporate Office, Kanpur
  • Selected candidate may be deputed to AWEIL units or government offices as required.

Salary / Perks

  • Consolidated Monthly Emoluments: ₹90,000
    • Remuneration: ₹80,000
    • Conveyance: ₹6,000
    • Medical: ₹3,000
    • Mobile/Internet: ₹1,000
  • Annual Enhancement: 10% increase per year
  • Casual Leave: 12 days per year (pro-rata basis)
  • Company Accommodation may be provided subject to availability and applicable rules.

  • Performance in Personal Interview

The competent authority may adopt higher shortlisting criteria in case of a large number of applications.
