Position Title
Legal Head – NBFC
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess:
- LL.B. or LL.M. degree from a recognized university
- Enrollment with the Bar Council (preferred)
Experience Requirement
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the legal function of an NBFC, Bank, or Housing Finance Company (HFC)
- Strong experience in:
- Loan Against Property (LAP)
- Mortgage lending
- SARFAESI Act, 2002 matters
- Litigation management
- Prior team handling experience is preferred
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the legal department for NBFC operations
- Drafting, reviewing, and vetting:
- Loan agreements
- Mortgage documents
- Vendor agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Other commercial contracts
- Handling litigation, arbitration, SARFAESI, and recovery proceedings
- Ensuring compliance with:
- Reserve Bank of India regulations
- Companies Act, 2013
- Other applicable laws
- Coordinating with advocates, legal consultants, and law firms
- Supporting credit, operations, collections, and business teams
- Reviewing title verification and property-related legal reports
- Monitoring legal risks and recommending corrective actions
- Managing empanelment and performance of legal vendors
- Assisting with audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions
