Position
Patent Associate – Prosecution
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in patent drafting and prosecution
- Experience working in an IP law firm or corporate IP department
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to comprehend inventions across various domains
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience in:
- Responding to Office Actions
- Patent hearings
- Patent prosecution matters
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Handling end-to-end patent prosecution for Indian and PCT applications
- Drafting and filing responses to:
- First Examination Reports (FERs)
- Examination Reports
- International Search Reports/Written Opinions
- Preparing amendments, arguments, and supporting documents
- Attending hearings before the Controller of Patents
- Conducting prior art searches and citation analysis
- Providing patentability and prosecution opinions to clients
- Coordinating with inventors, clients, and foreign associates
- Managing patent portfolios and filing instructions
- Ensuring timely compliance with deadlines
- Assisting senior attorneys in complex prosecution and strategy matters
