About the Job
Hitachi Energy is inviting applications for the role of Legal Counsel (General Business Entry Professional). The selected candidate will join the Legal and Integrity Department at the Bengaluru office for a fixed term of 18 months. This role offers structured learning through a specialized program and exposure to local, regional, and global legal projects within a multinational corporate environment. The position reports to the Regional Head of Legal, South Asia.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate degree in law
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification legal experience
- Licensed to practice law in India
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrated agility and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- High standards of integrity and ethical conduct
- Strong interest in technology and process improvement
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Assisting senior legal leadership in providing legal advice across a wide range of business matters
- Managing dispute resolution and litigation matters as assigned
- Conducting legal research and preparing legal documentation
- Supporting contract drafting, review, and negotiation, including frame agreements and partnerships
- Assisting in the development and implementation of legal and integrity strategies
- Supporting corporate governance initiatives at regional and country levels
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, local laws, and group directives
- Assisting with integrity training, due diligence, and Code of Conduct implementation
- Coordinating with external legal counsels and service providers
- Participating in local, regional, and global legal projects
- Engaging in continuous learning through the Legal and Integrity development program
