About the Organization
The Square Circle Clinic is a prominent criminal justice initiative functioning under NALSAR University of Law. The Clinic is dedicated to pro bono defence for death row inmates and undertrial prisoners and undertakes interdisciplinary research on issues such as forensics, mental health, torture, and access to legal aid. It operates across multiple cities including New Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad.

Eligibility Criteria
- Students enrolled in UG or PG programmes in:
- Law
- Humanities
- Social Sciences
- Psychology
- Psychiatry
- Media and Communication
- Preference will be given to candidates from the above-listed disciplines.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Exposure to criminal justice and legal aid systems
- Assistance in pro bono defence work for death row inmates and undertrials
- Legal and interdisciplinary research related to criminal justice, forensics, and allied fields
Mode of Work
- In-person internships are strongly preferred
- Remote internships will be considered only in extraordinary circumstances

Duration
- Full-time: 4 to 12 weeks
- Part-time: Minimum 12 weeks
Stipend / Perks
- ₹10,000 per month (full-time, per 4 weeks)
- ₹5,000 per month (part-time)
Important Dates and Timelines
- Internships are offered on a rolling basis
- Applications must be submitted at least two months in advance
- For internships commencing on 1 March 2026, the last date to apply is 31 January 2026
