About the Role
Fugro is inviting applications for the position of Legal Manager to support its Legal and Compliance function in India. The role involves strategic legal advisory, dispute management, contract law, compliance, risk management, and sector-specific legal work.
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Legal and Compliance team and Regional Head in executing legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk management strategies in India
- Acting as a business partner across business and service lines to identify legal risks and best practices
- Managing disputes, investigations, and litigation, including coordination with external counsel and court appearances when required
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts and legal documentation
- Advising on corporate and commercial law matters for Indian affiliates
- Driving contract lifecycle management, standardisation, and automation
- Monitoring compliance with company policies, Code of Conduct, and applicable laws, and delivering compliance training programmes
- Providing legal risk management advice and supporting business objectives
- Handling maritime law matters including shipping regulations, marine contracts, insurance claims, and environmental liabilities
- Coordinating with the global IP team for protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in India
- Implementing and monitoring data protection policies and compliance frameworks
- Advising on antitrust and competition law matters and conducting internal audits
- Acting as legal business partner for HR on labour and employment law issues
