It functions to provide free legal services to weaker sections of society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes, thereby strengthening access to justice in India.

Government Internship Programme
About the Internship
NALSA offers a structured internship programme for law students across India with the objective of familiarizing interns with the functioning of the Authority. The programme provides practical exposure to legal services, policy implementation, and access to justice mechanisms.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing a Three-Year LL.B. course or Five-Year Integrated Law Course from a recognized university or institution
- Preference will be given to:
- 2nd or 3rd year students of the Three-Year LL.B. course
- 4th or 5th year students of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course
Duration of Internship
- One month (four weeks)
- Internship commences from the 1st day of the concerned month
- February 2026 intake is currently open
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Legal research and drafting assistance
- Exposure to legal aid schemes and access to justice initiatives
- Assistance in court visits and coordination with legal services institutions
- Preparation of internship report on work undertaken

Important Dates and Timelines
- Internship period: February 2026 onwards

Stipend / Perks
- This is an unpaid internship
- No stipend, remuneration, or TA/DA will be provided
- Certificate of Internship will be awarded upon successful completion
Certificate of Internship
- Certificate will be issued only after successful completion of the internship
- Minimum 90 percent attendance is mandatory
- Certificate is subject to satisfaction of the Member Secretary, NALSA
- No Letter of Recommendation will be issued
Internship Guidelines
- Interns must arrange their own accommodation
- Office timings: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Working days: Monday to Saturday (Second and fourth Saturdays are holidays)
- Formal black and white dress code as prescribed by the Bar Council of Delhi
- Interns must carry their own laptops
- Local travel to courts and offices may be required
- This is a full-time internship and interns are not permitted to pursue any other course or work during the tenure
- Unsatisfactory performance may result in discontinuation of the internship

- No Objection Certificate from the appropriate authority clearly mentioning course name and current semester or year
