3. About the Internship
The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme allows undergraduate, postgraduate students, and research scholars to work closely with various verticals, divisions, and units of NITI Aayog. The internship provides exposure to government functioning, developmental policy frameworks and opportunities to contribute through empirical analysis, briefing notes, and policy papers.
4. Purpose of the Internship
- To offer short-term exposure to selected interns across different departments of NITI Aayog.
- To introduce young academic talent to real-time governance challenges and policy-making processes.
5. Objectives
- To associate students with NITI’s functioning for mutual academic and institutional benefit.
- To enable interns to understand policy issues and contribute through research-oriented inputs.
6. Mode of Work
- On-site internship at NITI Aayog, New Delhi.
7. Eligibility Criteria
Bonafide students of recognized universities in India or abroad who meet the following conditions:
- Undergraduate students: Completed/appeared for 2nd year (4th semester) exams; minimum 85% in Class 12.
- Postgraduate students / Research scholars: Completed/appeared in 1st year (2nd semester); minimum 70% in graduation.
- Students who have completed their UG/PG and are awaiting higher education admissions may apply if they have 70% or above cumulative marks.
- The gap between the final exam result and desired internship month must not exceed six months.

9. Duration
- Minimum: 6 weeks
- Maximum: 6 months
(Certificates issued only upon completion of the minimum internship period.)
