AFC Cup ATKMB enters knockout semifinals

ATK Mohun Bagan (ATKMB)made it to the inter-zonal semifinals of the AFC Cup because it commands its final Group-D opponent Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh to a 1-1 draw in Male on Tuesday.

Bashundhara Kings took the lead around the time unit mark through its Brazilian midfielder Jonathan Fernandes. ATK MB equal simply past the hour-mark through Australian forward David Williams.
The Kings were reduced to ten men within the stoppage time of the first right-winger when conservativist Sushanto Tripura was given a red card.

ATKMB looked disorganised at the beginning. Needing a win to create it to subsequent spherical, the Bangladesh aspect did well to stay to a pressing game to enervate the rhythm of the ATK MB, which required a draw to advance.

ATKMB required a win or a draw against Bashundhara to travel through whereas the Bangladeshi outfit needed a win.
Bagan struggled at the beginning against the pressing game of a determined Kings and also the latter gained management of the match once Fernandes struck one from the sting of the box giving the rival goalkeeper Amrinder Singh no likelihood.

Both groups had some possibilities within the first quarter.
Searching an equaliser in their quest to avoid elimination, Bagan found one once the change of ends once the Kings gave the impression to air the defensive with a person down.

The inter-zonal semi is going to vie on September 22 and can be hosted by the winner of the central zone final.
